Omni Express 320

Scania OmniExpress 320 - The New Class II Coach

In addition to its modular construction, Scania OmniExpress 320 shares several other systems, components and features with the earlier 3.40 m and 3.60 m high Scania OmniExpress models. The body, built completely of stainless steel, is shaped like a wedge at the front, improving vehicle aerodynamics and thus reducing fuel consumption.

The overall vehicle length is set according to customer preferences, between 11 and 14.9 metres. There are approximately 30 standard interior layouts to choose from. The coach comes with a roomy, up to 6.36 cubic metre luggage space with top-hinged doors, which allows for the coach to be used for short weekend trips as well.

Floor height is 860 mm. Both 1-1-0 and 1-2-0 door configurations are available. In the 1-2-0 configuration, an optional wheelchair lift can be installed by the double doors in the middle. The aisle is 10 cm wider than in the taller models, allowing a large amount of passengers to move easily. The automated climate control is robust enough to deal with both the arctic extremes of Northern Finland and heat waves in Southern Italy.

The driver station is, as in Scania models in general, ergonomic, roomy and highly functional. The transmission packages available are either an automatic transmission from ZF, or the fully automatic Scania Opticruise. The gear selector is always mounted either on the dashboard or on the steering column. The wide range of seat and steering wheel adjustments, along with pendant pedals complete the comprehensively thought-out work environment.
